Spring 2021 | Max Mounts + Turning 4!

AN UPDATE FROM THE DIGITAL FRONTIER

This week BOLDR turned four!

It has been a wild and exciting ride.
We've grown to a team of six, survived a pandemic induced recession, and learned a ton of Arch Viz tricks along the way.

Thank you so much for being apart of our story.
We can't wait to continue to support our clients' visualization needs, grow our team further, and continue to explore the Digital Frontier.

SEASONAL HIGHLIGHT

Max Mount Cabin

Team: Lem Urbano + Mike Sudolsky

In this project, our Senior 3D Artist Lem Urbano learned a plugin known as Max Mounts 2.0 and sculpted a beautiful Spring Landscape.

Check out his Plugin Overview here or by clicking below. We can't wait to use it to create high-resolution context for our renders!

Chaos Vantage

Vantage Utopia competition

Team: Dariele Polinar + Mike Sudolsky

In December of 2020, Chaos Group (the makers of Vray) revealed Vantage, their program for Real Time Animation.

Real Time Animation presents significant render time advantages over CPU Animation... For example, the above 1 minute video rendered out in a little over 12 hours, where as CPU animation could take as much as 3 hours for every second, or 8 days!

Chaos Group still has a way to go before they can rival our preferred Real Time Rendering Engine known as  Lumion3D.

Below is a quick pro and con list of Chaos Group's Vantage.

Pro's
- Links easily with 3dsMax Models
- Custom Animation and asset Rigging is easily imported

Con's
- Does not support Animated Materials
- Does not let you import cameras from 3dsMax
- Tons of Fireflies (White dots in trees/reflections)

In Summary
We feel feel it is not ready for client use and we will continue to keep our eye on this software, as it would streamline our workflow.
