Research Discoveries

The Corona Rendering Engine is a solid competitor to Chaos Group's Vray.
An ironic name considering current events, Corona Renderer can do everything we need.

It has advantages over Vray, such as:

 Faster Rendering Time
Decreased Memory Usage
Stronger, More Detailed Shadows
Stunning Results from Default Settings
Simpler Built In Post Processing*
Straight Forward Interface
Post Rendering Light Mix*
Simpler Built-In Post Processing*

*Vray 5 was released Q3 2020, with it, Vray responded to Corona's Light Mix by adding their own version.
Vray 5 Post Processing is now a lot more useful.

Mike's Thoughts

While some rendering engines carry certain advantages,  I stay true to my belief it is an artist's skills and knowledge of lighting that really matter. That being said, I would encourage all 3D artists to learn Corona Renderer as well as Vray.

While much of the above advantages in Corona 6 were matched in Vray 5,
our studio will add Corona Renderer to our toolbox and render select projects in it to explore more.

SKYHIVE 2020 SKYSCRAPER COMPETITION
HONORABLE MENTION - ELEVATE

Today's urban environment demands a multitude of futuristic technologies that have no current architectural answer.

There is a demand for urban aviation and door to door transportation services in gridlocked cities.

There is the demand for speedy drone delivery.

There is also a demand for a consistent and sustainable food supply.

All three of these new needs are met by our entry, Elevate.

BOLDR 2020 IMPACT
MEALS WITH STREETLIGHT

The Philippines shut down like most countries during the onset of Covid 19.

Many of the Philippines poorest lost their income, did not have savings and were going hungry.

At the onset of the crisis, we helped the marginalized community in Tacloban City by providing food for 840 people for one week via our friends at Streetlight!
